WE ARE

The roots of Monarch have grown from our recovery experiences and the community that supported us. We learned that while treatment offered essential skills, the real work began when returning to daily life. Our paths crossed during this critical time, connecting through shared insights about recovery. With guidance from those who walked before us, we built the environment we couldn't find when we needed it most; a place where the ebs and flows of healing happens together, and each person's distinct recovery receives the attention it deserves.
“The best way out is always through.”

WE UTILIZE PROVEN
clinical METHODS
TO ALLOW FOR NEW GROWTH
Our compassionate team uses proven therapeutic approaches; including DBT, CBT, and trauma-focused therapies; alongside creative expression methods. We personalize your care through a thoughtful blend of individual sessions and supportive group experiences, all tailored to your unique needs and goals.

What You Can Expect
In practice, you'll experience DBT in weekly skills groups, CBT through individualized assignments to work on privately, and creative expression through art therapy sessions. Trauma-focused work occurs in both individual sessions and specialized groups, while mindfulness practices integrate throughout your daily schedule. Each week, your treatment team reviews your progress and adjusts approaches based on what's resonating best with you.

THE TEAM
CALI PETERSON
FOUNDER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Like a gyroscope, Cali Peterson maintains level balance in motion, juggling her role as Executive Director, loving wife, mom of two energetic boys, and still lends her time wherever possible because she hasn’t discovered the word “no” yet. Nine years in addiction treatment plus her own recovery story means she gets it. You’ll find her quietly working behind the scenes with her sidekick Chewy, answering emails at midnight or helping with something that technically isn’t her job but she does anyway. She’s one of those people who makes recovery look possible by simply being herself.
MIKE PETERSON
MONARCH CO-OWNER

Side by side with Cali, Mike is one of those rare, enigmatic people who moves through life like the Energizer Bunny. It's inspiring to watch, though no one seems to know where the energy comes from. For anyone ready to do the work, he’s first to help, last to leave and with both heart and backbone, he leads by example.

WILLY B
Monarch Lakewood
I’ll be honest, I was pretty skeptical when I first got to Monarch. But the structure there actually helped me more than I expected, and the staff really gets what you’re going through because a lot of them have been there themselves. It wasn’t like other places where you feel judged or like just another case number. For the first time in a long time, I felt like people actually understood what was going on in my head. Being around others with similar struggles made a huge difference too.
BLAKE H
Monarch Lakewood
Monarch literally saved my life. I was in a really dark place with my depression and drinking, and nothing else had worked for me before. What made the difference was that the people there actually knew what they were talking about because they’d lived it. The other residents became like family, and we all helped each other through the tough days. The staff didn’t just treat symptoms, they treated me like a whole person. It’s been eight months since I left and I still check in with them sometimes.
NATE H
Monarch Lakewood
I ended up staying at Monarch for about four months, and honestly I didn’t want to leave when it was time. The transition into their program was rough at first because I wasn’t used to having that much structure, but the staff was really patient with me. They became like my second family and helped me build a life that I actually wanted to live instead of just surviving. Even now that I’m out, they still answer my calls when I’m having a hard time. That means everything to me.
